The Health Advancement Research Team (HART) is an interdisciplinary team researching into a wide range of health, sport and body-related issues, led by Dr Hannah Henderson.
Our research activities span ‘blue skies’ fundamental research through to the design, management and undertaking of specific intervention and evaluation projects. The multi-disciplinary team draws upon a range of methodological specialisms and expertise in various disciplines and subject areas, including sociology, psychology, anthropology, public health, media studies – further details in our introductory presentation.
Alongside flourishing academic research, we have considerable experience of evaluation projects, such as those investigating aspects of the delivery, efficiency and quality of social interventions designed for the purposes of health improvement, including exercise referral schemes.
The research team has conducted research into areas such as obesity, ageing & physical activity, and childrens’ physical activity, and evaluation projects such as the Lincolnshire Obesity Prevention Scheme, Swim for Health and Play for Life.
HART incorporates the Lincoln Sport & Exercise Psychology research team led by Dr Trish Jackman.
